Sales went up in Canada and exploded internationally to start 2026 for Calgary-based Decibel Cannabis.

“Q1 was a strong start to the year with revenue up 41%, international sales tripling and adjusted EBITDA doubling year over year. The setup for the rest of 2026 is compelling,” said CEO Benjamin Sze.

Decibel’s international sales grew 330% year over year to $9.6 million, “despite growth being impacted by delays in German permit timelines,” a quarterly financial statement said. These were Decibel’s first exports to Europe’s largest medical cannabis market, the report said.

Decibel now has supply agreements with 16 international customers.

“Management expects Decibel will experience growth through the balance of the year as the company converts its existing backlog to revenue. We continue to believe international sales are positioned for significantly high double-digit growth through 2026,” the statement said.

Domestic sales grew by 7% to $20.3 million, “driven by strong early performance of the new Standard Issue brand and the refresh of General Admission’s product portfolio.”

High single-digit growth is forecast to continue in 2026.

“This performance is especially meaningful as we emerge from last quarter’s headwinds,” said Sze.

Decibel’s market share grew from 4.1% to 4.4%, the company said.

“Refreshing General Admission’s vape portfolio has helped maintain a leadership position in the fast-growing liquid diamond segment, as the #1 Liquid Diamond 510 brand and #2 Liquid Diamond All-in-One brand,” the statement said.

Other highlights:

— Adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $6.9 million was an increase of 100% over last year’s first quarter. The increase was primarily driven by international sales.

— Free cash flow went into the red to the tune of $14.6 million “reflecting a $13.2 million one-time reduction in payables settled in connection with the company’s February 2026 debt refinancing.” Decibel rearranged financing with ATB that extends due dates and reduced its 2026 payments.

The company sold a property in Creston, BC, for $2.5 million. The deal still needs to be finalized.
