The estimated purchase price for 51% of Remexian Pharma GmbH is 27.2 million euros, a High Tide news release said. The Canadian company will have an option to buy the remaining shares in Remexian.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered just outside Berlin, Remexian is a leading importer and wholesaler of medical cannabis, the news release said.
Remexian has a fully certified warehouse and is licensed to import into Germany from 19 countries, including Canada, which represents approximately 33% of their total imports.
Over the past year, the number of medical cannabis patients in Germany has risen from an estimated 250,000 to nearly 900,000, the release said.
According to Germany’s Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, medical cannabis imports in the second quarter of 2025 reached a record 43.3 metric tonnes. Germany is the largest importer of medical marijuana in the world and Canada is the largest exporter, High Tide’s release said.
“Remexian is an ideal match for us—not only in its commitment to discount pricing, but also in its operational approach, which mirrors our lowest price guarantee in Canada,” said Raj Grover, founder and CEO of High Tide. “We will meaningfully strengthen our financials, positioning us well to establish a strong foothold in Germany, which will serve as a springboard into other European markets in due course.”
“By combining one of Germany’s largest cannabis distribution networks with High Tide’s unmatched access to Canadian supply, we are setting the stage for unprecedented growth,” said Markus Wenner, co-founder of Remexian.
High Tide brands include Canna Cabana and Queen of Bud.
The company also gave a preview of its third-quarter financial report, which will be released on Sept. 15. The company said it expects to beat analyst expectations and report a 7.4% increase in same store sales for the quarter ending July 31.
