HYTN ships cannabis flower to the United Kingdom
Published on January 10, 2025 by Pat Bulmer

Pharmaceutical company HYTN has exported cannabis to the United Kingdom.
HYTN Innovations, with its facility in Kelowna and HQ in Vancouver, received its first international order in November for products manufactured under its recently awarded Good Manufacturing Practices designation.
The completed shipment includes 43.75 kilograms of cannabis flower for medical use. The company confirmed this initial order has been paid in full and that the products are now available to patients across the UK through the country’s regulated medical sales model.
Following this initial success, HYTN received orders for over 500 kilograms of additional products.
“The fulfilment of our first order to 4C LABS and the subsequent substantial orders highlight the trust and confidence our partners place in our products and the strength and efficiency of our GMP standards,” said Jason Broome, chief operations officer of HYTN, in a news release.
Aurora ships Down Under
In another overseas deal, Edmonton’s Aurora Cannabis has a new distribution arrangement in Australia.
Aurora’s wholly owned MedReleaf Australia is partnering with a wholesaler to distribute products to pharmacies.
“We are deeply committed to broadening access to premium medical cannabis for the expanding community of patients who rely on Aurora,” said Andre Jerome, executive vice president, global business development. “Our new partnership with The Entourage Effect broadens our already robust distribution in Australia.”
MedReleaf brands include CraftPlant, Aurora and IndiMed.
Organigram signs agreements, too
And in a fiscal update last month, Canada’s Organigram reported it had signed supply agreements with customers in Germany, Australia and the UK.
“The company now has supply agreements with nine partners in Germany, the UK, Australia, and Israel,” the fiscal statement said.
