A Canadian pot producer has bought a giant “cultivation campus.”

Sensi Brands started December by announcing it had bought Maricann Inc. and its 100-acre site in Langton, Ont.

The site includes a 350,000-square-foot greenhouse and large outdoor growing area.

The greenhouse has been built to EU exporting standards and is undergoing certification.

“This transaction … firmly establishes the company among Canada’s Top Licensed Producers (LPs), by cultivation capacity, with a projected annual capacity output of 110,000 kg of high quality, EU-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified cannabis dried flower,” Richmond Hill-based Sensi said in a news release.

Sensi is the producer of Station House prerolls, Potluck flower and the Chillows THC oral pouch. The company has more than 350 products selling in nine provinces.

“This pivotal acquisition … provides Sensi Brands with direct control over substantial cultivation capacity — ensuring we can reliably meet the supply requirements of our domestic CPG (consumer packaged goods) brand portfolio and support international expansion,” said CEO Tony Giorgi. It’s the largest deal in the company’s history.

With EU-GMP certification underway, Sensi Brands used the news release to call out to international partners interested in long-term supply, white-label or collaboration opportunities.

“International markets such as Europe, Australia and the U.S., represent some of the most exciting frontiers for Canadian LPs,” the release said.

Sensi Brands is also into wholesale bulk distribution, medical cannabis, and operates a retail farmgate store in St. Thomas, Ont.
