A total of 97.58% of shareholder votes supported his re-election to the board. Also elected to the board on June 30 were Genevieve Young, Troy Grant, Vikram Bawa and Conrad Tate. They received from 95.93% to 97.46% of the vote.
Cronos Group shareholders also recently elected their board. Elected on June 18 were Jason Adler, Darren Broughton, Murray Garnick, CEO Michael Gorenstein, Dominik Meier, Jason Rudyk and Elizabeth Seegar. In this case, the CEO did not top the polls. Gorenstein got 93.67% of the vote. Rudyk was at 97.5% and the others over 99%.
Later, Cronos announced it had picked ATB Capital Markets Corp (ATB Cormark) to spearhead a share repurchase program.
MediPharm Labs’ director elections saw some lower percentages, but the directors’ slate was still elected easily. MediPharm last year warded off a slate put forward by a group of disgruntled shareholders. CEO David Pidduck stepped down in January. CFO Greg Hunter became interim CEO.
Pidduck’s still on the board, however. He was elected with 86% of the vote on June 17. Keith Strachan, Michael Bumby, Emily Jameson and John Medland were elected with 73-92% of the vote. Following his re-election as a director, Strachan was appointed chair of the board. Chris Taves, outgoing chair, and Chris Halyk did not stand for re-election. “As a co-founder and former president of MediPharm Labs, I have long believed in the company’s potential,” Strachan said in a news release.
In other personnel news, cannabinoid company Avicanna promoted Nick Hilborn to CFO. He had been interim CFO and previously vice-president of finance.
