Bursts by Olli

The last thing I expected from Bursts by Olli was the taste.

Cannabis infused gummies, with few exceptions, taste like candy. Everything about Bursts, from the way they’re marketed to the look and texture prepared me for just another fake “fruit” flavour.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually taste more like the real thing.

The centre of the hexagonal-shaped Bursts, as you’d expect from the name, is juicy. It tastes like fruit puree, and combined with the gummy, they pair into a fruit-leather-like taste.

Olli Bursts currently come in four flavours: Sweet Like Strawberry Melon, Feelin’ Blue Raspberry, Oh So Orange Cherry, and That Tastes Grape.

We found and tried the first two.

As advertised, Sweet Like Strawberry Melon has a distinct strawberry flavour with a nice hit of melon. The Feelin’ Blue Raspberry is a little less on the nose. While it tastes somewhat like berries, there is much more of an apple flavour from the apple puree used to sweeten it.

There are two gummies in each bag, so they’re good for sharing.

The gummies are a little greasy and gooey. The stuff in the middle has a tendency to leak out a little bit into the bag, making me wonder where the 10mg of THC is delivered and if some of my buzz is left stuck to the bottom.

Overall, these are good. At about $5 per package, they’re worth a try.
