Record sales on Valentine’s Day
Published on February 20, 2020 by David Wylie
Love was in the air at Green Gaia for Valentine’s Day.
The South Okanagan stores in Summerland and Penticton experienced record sales.
“I had people coming in getting ready for date night,” says co-owner Katerina Bakalos.
“It was something for people to connect with each other in a way they don’t usually.”
Cannabis companies promoted the love holiday as a time to partake together and make a higher connection, using puns like ‘weed be great together.’
Gummies and oral sprays were a popular purchase for the occasion.
Bakalos says she recommended couples add cannabis oil to their cuisine, particularly pasta sauce, as a way to enjoy the experience.
The store also had a joint-rolling class on Valentine’s Day, which was well attended.
