Almost died from black market vape

One of the biggest benefits to the legal cannabis market is safer products.

Case in point: A Wisconsin man suffered severe heart and lung damage and was placed into a medically induced coma after vaping with a black market cartridge.

The man in his mid-20s bought vape cartridges that contained THC, his brother told local media.

He was rushed to hospital when he started having trouble breathing. Doctors first thought it was pneumonia. He was sedated and placed into a medically induced coma with severe heart and lung damage.

The case may not be isolated. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin announced that eight teenagers were hospitalized in July with seriously damaged lungs. They were admitted to the hospital after suffering from shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain, cough and weight loss.

All eight had reported vaping during the weeks or months prior to being hospitalized.
