Reserve your weed online

The largest cannabis website in the world is expanding its popular weed pickup service into Canada.

Leafly Pickup lets cannabis consumers browse the menus of participating cannabis retailers, reserve products online, and then pick up and purchase products in store, directly from the retailer.

Spiritleaf has signed on as Leafly’s first Canadian retail partner.

“We’re proud of the momentum Leafly Pickup has in the U.S.,” says Leafly CEO Tim Leslie in a release. “It’s improving the consumer experience and it’s boosting revenue for retail partners.”

Canada is the first country to offer the service outside the U.S., which first launched it in March 2018.

The service will initially be available at Spiritleaf’s Alberta and Saskatchewan retail cannabis stores, including new flagship locations in Calgary and Edmonton.

It’s likely to become available in the Okanagan as well, with Vernon’s Spiritleaf location opening soon.

More to come

Leafly says other retailers will follow Spiritleaf and use the service in coming weeks and months.

It’s been gaining momentum in the U.S. Over the past six months, the number of retail locations in the U.S. that offer Leafly Pickup has more than doubled, with hundreds of retailers in nine regions taking advantage of the service.
