7 strains from DOJA hit the national market

A variety of new cannabis strains grown in West Kelowna are being featured nationally.

Okanagan-based DOJA has released its 91K and its Sour Kush. They are Indica-dominant strains that are hang-dried and hand-finished.

Also, five new limited-edition strains are available in 3.5-gram formats, including: Crescendo, Cali Kush Cake, Black Cherry Punch, Sour Glue and GMO Garlic Breath.

Kelly Olsen, vice-president of Canopy’s global flower business, says DOJA Okanagan Grown Ultra Sour has sold particularly well for the company.

“We are committed to providing the Canadian consumer with a wide range of flower products and the launch of these 10 new flower offerings delivers the premium credentials they’re looking for,” she says.

DOJA was founded by Trent Kitsch, a serial entrepreneur who’s gone from pro-baseball, to founding underwear company SAXX, to real estate and construction, to establishing a winery, and of course producing cannabis. The company was bought by Canopy in 2018.

Canopy says the premium flower market continues to grow, accounting for more than 25 per cent of all recreational market flower sales across Canada in the recent quarter.

New from 7ACRES

The 7ACRES portfolio is expanding too, with two new strains grown in its Kincardine, Ont., facility: Wappa 49 and Papaya. They’re sold in 7-gram formats.

(It’s worth mentioning that in 2018, 7ACRES released a ‘woop ya in the nose’ Wappa.)

Canopy says “the 7ACRES team brought the strain back with a new phenotype – #49 – selected in-house for its pungent aroma and high THC potency.”
