Samuel Adams beer maker launches ‘TeaPot’ drink

Cannabis beverages have been slowly gaining popularity, and more players are emerging.

Enter ‘TeaPot.’

The Boston Beer Company—which makes Samuel Adams beer and Twisted Tea—announced the launch of TeaPot, arriving in some provinces as soon as July.

As the name suggests, the drinks blend tea with different cannabis cultivars to create an iced tea beverage.

The company has partnered with Entourage Health Corp. and they’ll be manufactured by Peak Processing.

The first release will be called ‘Good Day Iced Tea,’ and it will be made with real-lemon black tea that’s infused with Pedro’s Sweet Sativa, grown by Color Cannabis. The 355ml cans will have 5mg of THC.

High expectations out the gate

George Scorsis, CEO and Executive Chairman, Entourage, predicted “TeaPot will be an instant hit.”

“The BBC team has a storied history and pedigree for producing some of the most beloved craft beverages in North America and we’re thrilled to be introducing yet another consumption method for the canna-curious consumer and growing self-care market,” he said in the news release.

A trio of partners, Boston Beer Company, Peak, and Entourage partnered up in 2021 to develop cannabis-infused beverages using Entourage’s extract in its Strathroy, Ont., facility. It’s then processed and formulated into drinks at Peak’s Windsor, Ont., facility.

Entourage is formerly known as WeedMD. Its portfolio includes Color Cannabis, Saturday Cannabis and Royal City Cannabis Co.
