What to do and see at the BC Cannabis Summit

There is a lot to see and do at the three-day BC Cannabis Summit.

With events, panels, booths, as well as opportunities to network and smoke with a cross-section of the cannabis industry, here are some of the highlights of the event, which runs April 21-23 at the Eldorado Resort in Kelowna.

Smoke weed on the roof of the historic Eldorado

It feels like being on top of the world lighting up on the Eldorado Hotel’s rooftop patio. While there is an opening ceremony at 1 p.m. on Friday, some might call the 4:20 Block Party Kickoff the real opening of the BC Cannabis Summit.

Hear Mike Farnworth defend his record on cannabis

From a news perspective, the highlight at the Summit is the keynote by BC Deputy Premier Mike Farnworth. His address will be followed up by what might be a lively Q&A. It happens Saturday in the Great Room at 12:30 p.m.

Wander and window shop an artisan market

For those feeling crafty, there’s an Artisan Night Market on Friday night, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wander among the villas and Manteo patio to find candles, funky dishes and décor, glassware, accessories, and other cannabis-themed goods.

See who wins this year’s AR Cannabis Cup

The third AR Cannabis Awards finale takes place Saturday starting at 7 p.m., and either High Quads or Camp River will take the cup. Last year Pistol and Paris won at the event. It’ll be followed by the Weed Pool High Society Gala.

Grab a bite from the Lobster Pot

Lobster isn’t normally associated with food trucks, but that’s what you’ll get from the Lobster Pot. It was popular with Summit guests last year.

Ask Health Canada some questions

Health Canada reps will be available during a panel on Sunday morning at 9:10 a.m. It will be moderated by David Wylie, publisher of the oz.

Hang out in the ChillZone

If you’re a little couch-locked, spend some time in the Certicraft ChillZone on the Manteo Waterfront Patio on Friday and Saturday where there’s live music, DJs, discussions, and more. It’s heated at night.
