CBD Honey by Planet Bee

Planet Bee makes beautiful honey, locally in the North Okanagan. The addition of CBD seemed like a natural pairing.

It could be used in coffee or on toast in the morning to set the day up or stirred into an evening cup of tea for some chill. At least that had been the hope.

The smell that wafted from the freshly opened jar was not quite what we expected. It had that classically sticky sweet aroma but there was something else lurking behind it. After another sniff we realized it smelled of chemicals or something else quite unnatural.

Tentatively we dipped our spoons into the plastic pot and as soon as that golden goo hit our tongues that unnatural smell translated into a taste that was revolting. We tried it on toast and in tea to see if that would help make it palatable, but the hot tea made it even worse and the toast was no better.

Spending $35 felt worth it for the CBD infusion and supporting a local business, but unfortunately this honey is not fit for human consumption, tasting like poison.

When we contacted Planet Bee they said the problem was with the CBD distillate and that they’re working on another batch. However, we aren’t sure that we would be willing to take a chance on this again as this was most certainly the worst cannabis product we have ever tasted—which is saying something.
